County Final Champions
The Junior Footballers were in very impressive form against familiar opposition on Tuesday night in Dunmore. Up against Carrickshock, the boys looked more like a team from The Kingdom or The Capital with their silky give and goes and clinical finishes. Captained by the ever dependable Kevin Hennessy the southern men got off to a great start when younger brother Conor finished a long high ball at the back post into the Carrickshock net. From then on the Tullogher/Rosbercon men were dominant leading 2-6 to 0-04 at the break.
Big performances from Pat Hartley, Conor Hennessy, Cian O'Donoghue, Jason Shiely, and the big kicking Water Walsh kept the scoreboard ticking over. Two fabulous saves from Goal keeper Eoin Ryan did nothing to encourage the Carrickshock men who, apart from a 10 minute spell at the start of the second half seemed to accept it wouldn't be their night. The only sour moment of the evening came when the impressive Donnacha O'Connor was injured in a nasty tackle a few minutes from the final whistle, his opponent getting a red card.
The final score was a massive 3-13 to 1-5.
Onwards and upwards so for the now Intermediate Football team who won't get much of a break. The first round of the Intermediate League should be played on the weekend of the 28th/29th of January.
Well done to all the panel and management team Ger Mullaly and Johnny Barron.

Huge Win For Tullogher/Rosbercon Puts Us in County Final
Tullogher/Rosbercon Intermediate Semi Final Winners.
A determined Intermediate team took to the field in Nolan Park last Sunday to meet near neighbours Glenmore in the Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate Championship Semi Final. The Tullogher men kept a very tight reign on proceedings from the first whistle with Cian O'Donoghue keepimg the scoreboard ticking over with incredible accuracy from frees and 65's. Glenmore struggled to find their feet and were given no time to linger on any ball being hounded down relentlessly by the opposition all over the field. The first of Conor Hennessy's goals came in the first half leaving his team in the ascendancy at the half time break 1-8 to 0-6.
Tullogher/Rosbercon came out with the same steely determination in the second half keeping Glenmore to just one point in 10 minutes of play, a time when any team behind would be hoping to close the gap. The defence were magnificent through out the day with Pat Hartley and Donnacha O'Connor making Michael Walsh's team of the week on KCLR.
Conor's second goal all but wrapped things up for the winners, an effort worthy of any big game victory. Massive performances were the order of the day with every player putting his shoulder to the wheel in a total team performance. No body more so than the inspirational Walter Walsh who could not be stopped orchestrating things for the winners. At the final whistle the score was 2-11 to 0-11.
Scorers: Tullogher/Rosbercon - Cian O'Donoghue (0-8 four frees, three 65's) Conor Hennessy (2-1) Tarek O'Connor, Liam Barron (0-1 each).
Glenmore- Ger Aylward (0-4) Alan Murphy (0-4 frees) Eoin Murphy (0-2 one free) Philip Roache (0-1).
Carrickshock came through the other semi final, beating Tullaroan in a tight game 1-18 to 1-17.
Manager Mark Tyler spoke on KCLR on Monday night saying "They (Carrickshock) have been there and done it all before. Whereas we are kind of feeling our way into it and it's going to be another big game. We are going to have our work cut out again. We will be underdogs again going in but I think we are ready now to have a real good go at it. We won't fear Carrickshock but we will definitely be respecting them because they have a lot of quality on that field and a massive inter-county experience."
All roads then will lead to Nolan Park on Sunday the 6th of November for an all southern Intermediate County Final. The lads might be underdogs going into it, but then they have worn that tag already and silenced the doubters. They can do it again. Best of luck to all the panel and management in their preparations. We are all behind you lads. RIP TULLOGHER.
