On Monday 3rd of April, the U16 team faced Graigue Ballycallan in Kilmanagh in round two of the hurling league.  Tullogher found the going tough in the first half where we played into the breeze on a greasy surface.  The 1-10 to 0-1 score line at half time reflected the dominance that Graigue Ballycallan had.  Tullogher began the second half with renewed vigour in an attempt to get something from the match.  Graigue Ballycallan were restricted to 0-3 for the second half but Tullogher found their scores hard to come by, scoring 1-5.  The goal came from a 21 yard free, taken by Brian Walsh who blasted the ball straight to the net. With 5 minutes remaining, Tullogher lost Brian Walsh to a second yellow card and the Tullogher challenge faded from there on.

Continuing a busy week for the U16s’, they played Danesfort in Brownstown on the following Friday night.  After a slow start where Danesfort done most of the hurling, we got back into the game with a goal from a free taken by Brian Walsh.  The half time score was 0-10 to 1-3 in favour of Danesfort.  The second half was dominated by Danesfort who ran out winners on a score line of 4-16 to 1-5.  The unavailability of two of the senior players and the loss of another two to injury during the game meant that Tullogher were up against it playing a very strong Danesfort team.
