Plans for our Feile 17 Under 14 Hurlers are coming along!

Well, hopefully you have all seen the signs! Please read on now for all the details.

Feile na nGael 2017 will take place from Friday 16th June to Sunday 18th June in Kilkenny, Carlow and Wexford. Over 8,000 U-14 players will participate. It will bring over 100,000 visitors to the South East that weekend. There will be 86 host teams playing 86 visiting hurling teams all together playing in 11 divisions of 8 teams and 56 host Camogie teams playing 56 visiting teams in 7 divisions of 8 teams. 40 Finals will be played in the 3 Counties on the Sunday of 18th. Over 1,000 coaches and mentors will guide teams and 150 referees will be used.

Friday 16th June

Our Under 14 Feile team, St Annes (Wexford), St Manmans Clonaslee (Laois) and Clann Na Gael (Westmeath) will be playing on Friday 16th June at our pitch.

We are delighted to be hosting the Clann Na Gael hurlers and mentors from Westmeath over the Feile weekend. We would sincerely like to thank all of those in the Parish who have made their homes available to accommodate the Westmeath team.

We expect all 4 teams to arrive around 2:30pm with the event officially underway at 3:00pm with some important opening speeches taking place so don’t miss out. Introductions will be made between the host families and visiting players.

Four matches will take place in the Brownstown Pitch on Friday 16th as follows:

·       4:00pm – Tullogher- Rosbercon v’s St Manmans Clonaslee (Laois)

·       4:45pm – St Annes (Wexford) v’s Clan Na Gael (Westmeath)

·       5:30pm – Tullogher -Rosbercon v’s St Annes (Wexford)

·       6:15pm  - St Manmans Clonaslee (Laois) v’s Clan Na Gael (Westmeath)

Barbeque, tea and refreshments will be available from 4pm onwards. We would be delighted for any contributions such as cakes, buns and apple tarts on the Friday.

We expect proceedings to wrap up before 9pm at the Clubhouse when the Westmeath hurlers will return to their host families.

The Juvenile Committee would sincerely like to thank all those so far who have made themselves available to umpire, manage side-lines, keep the scoreboard, manage traffic, provide first aid, man the barbeques, provide refreshments, provide PRO support and many other duties over the weekend.

A professional photographer will be taking photos of all the action and these photos will be made available after the event for a small fee through the photographers website. More details to follow.

The community spirit has been fantastic so far and we have no doubt that it will be even greater over the Feile 17 weekend.

Saturday 17th June

One final match will be played on Saturday against our visiting team Clan Na Gael.

11:00am – Tullogher- Rosbercon v’s Clan Na Gael (Westmeath). Teams to be there at 10:15 for team photos

Both teams will then depart by bus to Ferns for Shield and Cup Quarter Finals, stopping at the Parish Pump for lunch. We expect to return at 6:30pm to Brownstown Pitch. All players will return to host families for dinner.

A disco is arranged for 9pm in the Rosbercon Parish Hall and will finish at 11pm.

Sunday 18th June 

Well that depends! Sunday arrangements depend on how Saturday plays out.

The Shield and Cup Semi-Finals start at 11:30am in Tinryland GAA, Carlow, with Finals starting at 2:30pm.
