Intermediate Championship

The intermediates played St Patricks the 3rd round of the Intermediate Championship in Bennetsbridge last Friday evening. With both sides on 2pts it was an important game.
Tullogher Rosberson started well going into a 0-3 to 0-1 lead with 2 points from Cian O'Donoghue and 1 from Conor Hennessey. Ballyragget then took over and scored 4pts before Cian scored again from a free. Conor Hennessey then had a great shot hit the post when a goal looked a certainty. It was point for point between the 2 sides until halftime with the score then 1-8 to 0-8, Cian scoring 0-6, Conor 0-1 and John Cotterell 0-1.
Early in the second half it loooked like ballyragget might pull away when they went 5pts up but Tullogher prove a match for them and responded with points from play from John Barron (0-2), Ed Cullinane and a might puck from 90+ yards from James Mullally. Cian added a free to level the score.
The turning point came then when St Patricks got a few soft frees to keep them ahead and then they added a point from play to put them 0-3 up. Tullogher then took over and after several raids on St Patricks goal drew back level with 0-3 from frees. It was into injury time and a draw looked certain before Ballyragget broke up field and Brian Phelan had a great score to win the match.
The Tullogher lads put up a great display and hopefully can carry this good form through the next few months when the championship resumes in July with matches against Glenmore and Conahy.
