County Stars

All roads lead to Croke Park this Sunday for the All Ireland Hurling Final. Best of Luck to our very own Walter Walsh who is part of the Kilkenny panel. Thanks to some great performances for the club, county U21’s and during county training matches Wally was called into Brian Cody’s match day squad after the Leinster Final defeat. Wally is only one of three members of the panel who are still U21.

Hard Luck to Pat Hartley who was part the Kilkenny Intermediate panel who were beaten by Tipperary in the All Ireland Intermediate Final last Saturday. Having recently returned from the US, Pat started on the bench but was brought on at center back in the 15th minute to shore up a leaky defense. However Kilkenny’s fightback came-up just short and they eventually lost on a scoreline of 3-13 to 1-17. The consensus in Thurles was if Pat had started, the concession of early goals would have being avoided and the Michael Cusack Cup would be resting on Noreside
