Intermediate 1/4 Final 2013

posted 26 Sep 2013, 09:14 by Unknown user

The Intermediates bowed out of the Championship at the Quarter Final stage against an impressive St. Patrick’s (Ballyragget) team. St. Patrick’s aided by a strong breeze, started brightly and raced into a 1-03 to 0-01 lead. A wonder goal from county star, Wally Walsh, brought Tullogher back into the game, but St. Patrick’s closed strongly to lead by 9 points at half time.

On the resumption Tullogher dominated and brought the deficit back to 4 points midway through the half, thanks to a 2nd goal from Wally. With St. Patrick’s on the back foot the next score was going to be vital, unfortunately it was St. Patrick’s who got it and maintained control to run out winners. Wally completed his hat trick with a late goal to leave the final score Tullogher Rosbercon 3-11 St. Patrick’s 3-21.

Team: Martin Roche, John Hartley, John Grennan, Sean Murray, Tony Conway, Pat Hartley (0-01), Donnacha O’Connor, Moling Cotterell, Brendan Lawlor, Richard Dollard, Jack Cotterell, Walter Walsh (3-00) Cian O’Donaghue (0-09, 9 frees), Ted Cullinane (0-01), John Barron (Anthony Cotterell).

A big thank you to Trainer Johnny Walsh and selectors Basil Glennon and Jim Cody for all the effort throughout the year.
