Tullogher recorded their second win against the previously unbeaten Young Irelands (Gowran) on Saturday afternoon in Tom Walsh Park, Skeoughvosteen. Starting brightly, Tullogher had 5 points on the board before Gowran registered their first point. The points coming from Martin Bookle and a brace a piece from John Barron and Walter Walsh. A Gowran goal midway through the half brought the teams level against the run of play. Tullogher were quick to respond with a goal of their own from Martin Bookle.  Half time score read 1-09 to 1-07.

Again Tullogher dominated the opening exchanges of the half, and further extended the lead thanks to a 2nd Martin Bookle goal from a ground stroke that found the top corner of the Gowran goal. Midway through the half there were 8 points between the sides, a tiring Tullogher team allowed the lead be reduced to 3 at the final whistle. Tullogher won on the final scoreline of 2-12 to 1-12. This was a deserved victory were Pat Hartley was dominant at centre back, ably assisted by Anthony Cotterell beside him. Upfront, Wally always looked dangerous with ball in hand and Martin Bookle rolled back the years in taking his two goals.

Tullogher play Emeralds in the final game of the League Championship. The fixture will not take place until after Kilkenny finish the 2012 All Ireland Championship.
