The Junior A’s suffered a heartbreaking defeat due to an injury time goal against Ballyhale Shamrocks in the Quarter Final of the Championship. Tullogher got off to a great start thanks to a goal from close ranch by James Ryan. Midway through the half the lead was extended when Ted Cullinane found the net after doubling on a long ranch delivery from a Cian O Donahgue free. At half time the score read Tullogher Rosbercon 2-05 Ballyhale Shamrocks 0-07.
Throughout the 2nd half Tullogher maintained a 3 point lead thanks to some great points from Cian O Donaghue against a Shamrocks side that was starting to dominate. Eoin Ryan brought off some fantastic saves throughout the half. With the game entering injury time Shamrocks reduced the deficit to 2 points. In the penultimate play, Tullogher’s goalline was finally breached when Niall Mullen scored a goal, which was followed by a point with the last play. The rapid 1-02 from Shamrocks left the Tullogher men’s hearts deflated as the final whistle blew after a brave performance. The final scoreline was Tullogher Rosbercon 2-10 Ballyhale Shamrocks 1-15.
