Juniors A’s began their year in winning fashion with a 2 point victory against near neighbour’s Glenmore in Tullogher on Saturday, March 24th, in the 1st round of the league. The 1st half action was tight with both teams trading points to leave the score at 5 points apiece at half time. Goals win games and so it turned out with the lively James Mullally finishing to the net twice in quick succession after a James Murphy effort hit the crossbar and a Billy Ryan effort was saved. Glenmore fought back to level the score before the excellent John Murphy added a decisive 3rd goal.  Stout defending for the last 5 minutes insured a Tullogher victory on a scoreline of 3-06 to 1-10. A big well done to Anthony Cotterell and Billy Ryan who had excellent games, on their debut’s in adult hurling.

Team: Eoin Ryan, Tony Conway, Terance Croke, Joe McCarthy, Anthony Cotterell, John Hartley, Amby Malone, Ian Power, Richard Ryan, Mark O’Brien, John Murphy (1-2), Billy Ryan, James Murphy, James Mullally 2-4, 4 frees), David Manning. Subs: Padraig Ryan, Mark Malone.
