Exams

Best of luck to all members who are doing public exams over the coming weeks. Minor and U16 leagues resume the end of June when all the exams are over.

Juvenile Pitch

The Club have applied for planning permission to level and re-align the juvenile pitch. Topsoil and filling has been donated by builders of the new school in New Ross and the plan is to have 2 level pitches on the current area. Its hoped to have this work completed by the end of the summer.

Intermediate League

The Intermediates played Conahy Shamrocks in the 3rd round of the intermediate league on Saturday last in Clara.
A slow start by the lads left Conahy in a 4 pts to 1 lead after 10 mins but Tullogher got stuck in a points by Brendan Lawlor, Walter Walsh and Liam Barron got Tullogher back into the game. A late arriving Cian O'Donoghue then made a big entrance scoring 3 long range frees, a side line cut and setting up Brendan Lawlor for another before 1/2 time. Conahy stayed in the game with a few frees to leave the 1/2 time score 0-9 to 0-7 to the Tullogher Rosbercon lads.
The 2nd half started with Tullogher taking control with points from Cian O'Donoghue, Kevin Hennessey and Donnacha O'Connor.  A great goal by Walter Walsh left Tullogher in a 5 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. It looked like the lads would pull away but Conahy upped the tempo and got a goal themselves before adding on 3 points from very "soft" frees. Tullogher got the lead back to 2 points before Walter made another great run only to be fouled around the 21. Conahy loaded the goal with 13 players and stopped the resultant free to run out 2 point winners.
A highlight of the game was the play of Pat Hartley. At times he was on a different hurling to planet to everyone else, making a string of super catches and clearances despite being constantly fouled but getting very few frees. If ever a player deserved not to lose a game it was Pat on Saturday evening and at least we have the consolation of having one of the best backs in Kilkenny playing for us.

Junior A

The Junior A's played Mooncoin in the latest round of the league in Mooncoin. Much the better team through the 1st half the boys led 0-10 to 0-6 at 1/2 time. Leading throughout the 2nd half it looked like the Tullogher Rosbercon team would maintain their unbeaten league run. However the turning point came when the referee reversed a free to Tullogher and Mooncoin scored a goal from the resulting clearance. The final score was 2-12 to Mooncoin to 0-14 to Tullogher Rosbercon, a game the boys should have won.

Junior B

The Junior B's had a great win vs Windgap in the league last weekend. This was the 1st win for the boys as they won on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-15. Windgap had the ind in the 1st half and scored 0-11 but Tullogher got 2 vital goals in the 1st half to leave the score 0-11 to 2-4 at 1/2 time. Windgap continued scoring points at the start of the 2nd half before another Tullogher goal stopped Windgaps good play. Tullogher held on for a great win and confirmed their obvious improvement since the start of the league.

U14 League

The U14's continued the league campaign with a home game vs Black and Whites. Dominant right from the start the lads ran out easy winners on a score of 6-15 to 0-3 against a very young Skeogh team. Although there'll be tougher tests well done to the team on a great start to the league.

Schools

The schools team drawn for all 3 schools started the knockout stages of the Roinn B championship with a quarter final against Castlecomer in Danesfort. It was tough game against a team who beat us in the Country Cup last year. The boys led 2-4 to 0-2 at 1/2 time and then added a further 4 points during the 2nd half. Castlecomers response was 2 late goals , but the Tullogher lads went through to the semi final on a final score of 2-8 to 2-2
Next up in the semi-final was an unbeaten Gowran outfit again in Danesfort. A blistering start with 2-2 in the 1st 5 minutes totally unsettled Gowran and the boys led well throughout the game to win on a scoreline of 7-9 to 3-6.
The schools team have therefore qualified for the Roinn B Final for the 1st time since winning it in 1999. Although appearing in a few C finals and winning it in 2010, this represents a great achievement for the team. The final takes place on Thursday next at 7.30 in Nowlan Park vs our neighbours Glenmore.

U12s

The U12's played their 1st game in the annual Richie Young tournament last weekend. They played the Rower Inistioge in Inistioge. playing with the wind in the 1st half the boys led by 2-3 to 0-2 at half time. Despite huge pressure from the home team in the 2nd half Tullogher Rosbercon ran out winners on a score of 3-3 to 1-3.

U10s

Under 10's played the second round of the Caufield Cup on Wed 20th.They had a good win against St. James and drew with Fethard. They also played Glenmore in the Go Games on Sat 23rd and after a hard close game they eventually won 3.2 to  4 pts.

The U10s are playing against The Rower/Inistioge at half time of the Senior Hurling Inter County Challenge Match between Kilkenny  and Limerick on Sunday 31st May at 7pm in Inistioge.
