U14s at Feile in Thomastown last week

Intermediate League

The intermediate team played Thomastown in the 2nd round of the Intermediate League on Saturday last in Inistioge. After losing the 1st game narrowly to Gowran and win was vital in this round.
The game was even for the 1st 10 mins until Thomastown goaled to put them 1-3 to 0-3 ahead. Playing with a strong breeze Thomastown then took over scoring freely up to half-time to leave the score 1-11 to 0-6, wih Tullogher just about holding on.
The 2nd half started well for Tullogher with a great fightback during the 3rd quarter, outscoring Thomastown by 1-5 to 0-1, with Donnacha O'Connor scoring the goal. Thomastown didn't give up though and as the wind died down they scored 3 points in a row to remain in a 4 point lead. However a 2nd Donnacha O'Connor goal, some great frees from Cian O'Donoghue, plus points from Conor Hennessey, Daire McGrath and Moling Cotterell sealed a great comeback, with Tullogher Rosbercon winning on a scoreline of 2-16 to 1-15.
Team: Martin Roche, Anthony Cotterell, John Hartley, Terence Croke, Moling Cotterell, Pat Hartley, Donnacha O'Connor, Walter Walsh, Brendan Lawlor, Liam Barron, Jack Cotterell, Cian O'Donoghue, Conor Hennessey, Ted Culinane  (John Barron), Kevin Hennessey (Daire McGrath).

Further good play from Willie Ryan and Paraic Ryan meant Tullogher trailed by a couple of points at half time. Superior fitness of Kilmacow pulled them clear in the 2nd half, however the Tullogher boys never stopped battling .

Minors

The Minor bad league run continued with loss to Emeralds. Missing a few players due to exams and losing center back Richard Gill through injury after a few minutes didn't help the cause. final score was 1-14 to 0-7. Hopefully fortunes will improve after the break for exams.

U16’s

The U16's had their 1st win of the league with a great home victory over St Patricks, Ballyragget. After battling bravely over the 1st few rounds the lads eaned a well deserved victory on a scoreline of 5-9 to 1-7
The joys of the Ballyragget victory only lasted a week through as the boys faced Kilmacow on Sunday evening last. Kilmacow proved way too strong for our very young team in the atrocious conditions and won by a big score.

U14’s

The U14's also had a busy spell recently. They played the 2nd round of the League and had a great win over St Particks in Brownstown on a score-line of 4-10 to 1-11. With the goals coming in the 1st half the lads had to hold off a great comeback from St Patricks secure the 2d win of the league
The U14's also played in the U14 Feile Blitz in Thomastown last Wed. The lads lost to a very strong Clara team in the opening game but made a great recovery beating Callan (3-11 to 2-4) and the neighbours Glenmore (1-5 to 0-3) on a busy evening.

U8’s

The U8's played the Rower Inistioge recently in The Rower, a great time was had by all.The U8's also played in the St Keirans tournament last Sunday, playing 3 games on the day.

U10’s

The U10's had the busiest schedule of all the clubs teams of over the past 2 weeks. 1st up was Dicksboro in the Kilkenny league and fielding 2 teams Tullogher Rosbercon came out winners of both games. Next up was the annual Caulfield League Go-Games and the lads faced St James and Bannow last Wed. Again the lads came out winners of both games. They also played Conahy in Jenkinswown last Sat and won there also. Well done to the team and management and thanks to all the parents who put in some big milage over this busy period.

U12’s

The U12's played Rathnure last Sat evening and won on a scoreline of 6-4 to 1-6. Again thanks to all the u12 parents who have had a busy time driving to schools matches and U12 games. The Richie Young Tournament has also commenced with the 1st round games being played this week

Schools

The schools team finished off the League stages of the schools competition with a 3-5 to 2-5 win over Dunnamaggin. This put the combined Listerlin Rosbercon and Shanbough team at 2nd place in the league and looking forward to the knockout stages of the competition.
