Kilkenny Minors

Best of luck to Conor Hennessy who has been picked to play half-forward on the Kilkenny minor team on Saturday next. The Minor's are playing Wexford in Wexford park at 2pm in the 1st round of the Leinster Championship.

Intermediate League

The Intermediates played Gowran in the 1st round of the league in Graiguenamanagh 2 weeks ago. A lightening fast start by Gowran gave them a 1-2 to 0-0 lead after only 3 minutes. A goal by Walter Walsh got Tullogher back into the game. The remainder of the 1st half was neck and neck with the score at 1/2 time 1-6 each. Tullogher Rosbercon had dominated most of the 1st half and would have felt disappointed to only be level at half time. The 2nd half opened with a point from Walter and followed with more scores from play from Ted Cullinane and a few excellent scores from Conor Hennesey. Gowran were kept in the game due to their excellent free taking on a succession of very soft frees. The final score was Gowran 1-15 to Tullogher's 1-12. But for the bad start Tullogher would have won easily so hopefully the lads can get back to winning ways vs Thomastown in the next game

Junior A

The Junior A's made a winning start to their campaign with a good 2-12 to 0-9 win over Thomastown last week

Junior B

For the 1st time in the clubs history a 3rd team was entered in the Junior B grade. The boys have played 3 games so far and although they ended in 3 defeats, they lads have ben improving steadily. The most recent game was tonight (Friday) and the lads had a great 1st half going in 2-7 to 0-7 at half time vs Callan. A 5 minute spell at the start of the 2nd half when Tullogher conceded 1-3 was to prove costly as Callan ran out winners on a score of 2-14 to 2-10. Real credit must be given for the efforts so far as the lads have been facing 2nd and 1st teams from other clubs.
The team that took the field against Slieverue in the 1st game played was:
Johnny Barron (D'Town), James Murphy Bob Forristal, Chris McKeown, Patrick Grennan, John Grennan, Joe Ryan, Paudie McGrath, Ian Power, David Manning, James Ryan, Willie Ryan, Padraig Ryan, Simon Kennedy, Liam Walsh Subs: Jack Byrne, Martin Bookle, Markey Malone and Paudie Walsh

The Minors proved no match for a very strong Callan team in their 2nd league game. Losing 1-17 to 0-8 on a very windy evening in Brownstown.

The U16's have played 2 more rounds of the league, both unfortunately resulting in big losses to Freshford and Slieverue. The boys are having a tough time in Roinn B so best of luck to them for the rest of the league campaign.

The U14's started the hurling league with a great win over Conahy Shamrocks on Thursday in Jenkinstown. 3 first half goals made sure the result was never in doubt and the lads ran out easy winners on scoreline or 6-8 to 1-6. Well done to the team and mentors, Eddie O'Sullivan , Damien Cummins and Marky Malone on a good start to the league.

The U14's lost out narrowly to Railyard in the U14 football semi final played a few weeks ago. Leading by 5pts mid way through the 2nd half, tullogher let the lead slip to a few late Railyard goals to lose 5-4 to 2-8. Well done to the boys for getting to this stage and thanks to Billy McGrath and Martin Fitzgerald for training them for the football season.

The schools team had 2 great wins in the Roinn B league over the last few weeks. Beating Ballyhale on a score of 4-10 to 1-4 and then following up with a great win over Bennetsbridge on a scoreline of 3-7 to 1-3. The team are now 2nd in the League table and have 2 more games to come at home vs Kilmanagh and Dunnamaggin, so best of luck to Mr Cassin and the team in these games.

The U12's started their year recently with 2 matches. First up was Cushinstown, which the boys won easily 4-5 to 0-2. The lads then had a much tougher game against Carrickshock losing by 3 pts. Down by 11 poitns at 1/2 time a great 2nd half saw tullogher Rosbercon almost snatch a draw against a handy Carrickshock team.

The U10's start their go-games league on Sunday next vs Dicksboro in Browstown. With a large squad of 24, 2 teams will face the city outfit so best of luck to the team and mentors.
