U10's being presented cup by TJ Reid after win in blitz in ballyhale

Junior A's

Tullogher defeated The Rower-Inistioge in a hard fought encounter on a windy evening in Glenmore to advance to the semi-finals of the junior A championship. The first half was a nip and tuck affair with Tullogher playing with the aid of a strong breeze. An excellent team goal, with James Ryan putting pressure on Padraig Lyng at full back, winning the ball back, laying it off to Daire McGrath who fed Tarek O'Connor who finished well. This gave Tullogher an interval lead of 4 points. In the second half Tullogher missed an early goal chance and The Rower-Inistioge took over for the next quarter to bring the arrears back to one point. Against a strong breeze, things didn’t look good for Tullogher. The ageless veteran, Eoin Mullally came on and turned the game... a bit !!!
A strong 5 minute spell saw Tullogher, score a point from play and win a number of frees, which were duly converted by Brendan Lawlor, who was unerring on the night in difficult conditions. Now Tullogher, 5 points to the good had to withstand a strong The Rower-Inistioge fight back. The Tullogher defence stood firm, saving a number of 21 yard frees as goals were sought. A good win overall and now progress to meet Dunamaggin in the semi-final.
Team: Eoin Ryan, James Murphy, Gary Heffernan, Stephen Lawlor, Kieran Barron, Declan Grennan, Sean Murray, Brendan Lawlor, Billy Ryan, Jason Sheily, John Barron, Kevin Hennessy, Dara McGrath, James Ryan, Tarek O Connor – Sub Eoin Mullally for James Ryan

Semi final takes place against Dunnamaggin on Friday week 7th Aug

Intermediates

Our intermediates played Graigue-Ballycallan in the 4th round of the intermediate league. Tullogher were on top early on playing against the breeze and led for most of the 1st quarter. At 4points each Graigue had a player red carded for striking Pat Hartley off the ball. Tullogher then went into a 2 point lead. Graigueballycallan fought back to level the scores with 2 frees before 1/2 time to leave the score 0-6 each at the break.
Tullogher Rosbercon looked in the driving seat playing against 14 players with the aid of the breeze. However Graigue struck with a goal after the ball rebounded from the post when it looked like a point. Eddie Brennan had taken over frees early on and was in fine form and some expert long range frees gave Graigue a good lead. Although injured in the 1st minute of the game Walter struck for a goal but Graigue were able to add on a few more points from play and ran out winners on a score of 1-17 to 1-9.
The final round of the league stages of the competition takes place on 15th August when the lads play Tullaroan. Although there's only a slight chance of avoiding the bottom 2 places, hopefully Tullogher Rosbercon can return to last years championship form and progress further when the championship starts in September

The Intermediates also played Dunnamaggin in the All County League and had a good win on a 3-25 to 3-12 scoreline. Although it was the 2nd level club competition it was a vital win to get results back on track.

Junior Bs

The Junior B's played the final game of the league against Graiguenamanagh , although putting in a fine performance came away losers on a score line of 2-16 to 1-12.

Minors

The minors lost to Erins Own on a scoreline of 5-11 to 0-17 in the league in castlecomer

U16s

The U16s played their 1 and only football game of the year when playing the Championship semi-final vs St Lachtains. The boys went down on a score of 1-8 to 2-2. They also played 2 hurling league games and lost heavily to Windgap/Galmoy and Young Irelands. The Roinn B league has proved to be too much for the lads whose only win came against Ballyragget. With the 1st round of the Championship on Bank Holiday Monday hopefully the lads can turn the season around with a good performance against Callan.

U13

The U13's played in the annual Lisdowney 7's competition last week and had a great win vs Camross (Laois) in the 1st round. The unfortunate reward was a 2nd round game against Disckboro. The lads fought bravely but lost out to a very strong city outfit.

U12

The U12's played the 1st game of the Kilkenny go-games league on Monday last against Tullaroan. Playing with the breeze in the 1st half it was level at 1/2 time on a score of 0-3 each. however a great second half gave the lads a 1-8 to 1-4 win and a good start to the league which involves 4 more games during August and a final at the start of September in Nowlan  park.

U10

The Under 10 team had a great day out at the Castlegannon Show on Sunday 19th July. They beat Mullinavat in a hard fought match with a
score of  5 goal 3 pts to 7 goals 7 pts. They then went on to win against The Shamrocks Ballyhale  on a score of 5 goal 3 pts to 3 pts. The captain on the day Sean Power was presented the cup by TJ Reid.

U6s

The U6's played 2 more games recently vs Rower Inistioge and Glenmore. Well done the lads who are gaining valuable match experience.

Leinster finals

Well done to clubs representatives Conor Hennessey and Walter Walsh who played big parts in Kilkennys recent Leinster Minor and Senior finals wins. Conor who came on as a sub scored a vital point in the teams were level to give Kilkenny a vital lead, which they extended by another point in extra time.

Mícheal Hanrahan RIP

The club offers it sympathy to the family of Mícheal Hanrahan (Tullogher) who died suddenly on the day after seeing grandson Conor playing so well in Croke Park. Mícheal was a great supporter of Tullogher Rosbercon and Kilkenny and it was a sad day for the parish when he passed away suddenly at home.
