All Ireland Hurling Final Man of the Match
Hearty congratulations to Walter Walsh on his outstanding game in last Sundays All Ireland Hurling Final replay. Creating Kilkenny hurling history he was called into the starting line up never having turned out for the seniors in any previous game. He played like a veteran and better than most veterans clocking up a great personal score of 1-3 which could well have been added to except for his withdrawal to give a colleague a game at the end. His display was such that he became a household name throughout the hurling world overnight and now he is the hero of young and old alike. A loyal clubman and made no big show of his remarkable success. As one local hurling man said, "now at last everyone in Ireland knows where Tullogher is and how to pronounce it!". He brought great honour to himself, his family, his parish and club and we wish him the very best of luck in the future. Congratulations of course also to the Kilkenny team on a inspiring victory on the day, even the naysayers were quiet this Monday gone by.
Kilkenny Honda Centre Minor H.C. Roinn B  Semi Final
Our Minor hurlers took on Danesfort in Thomastown last Saturday in Thomastown in front of great support. In a game where Danesfort started as favourites our lads played well in the first half keeping close to the opposition. After half time and returning to the game with encouragement ringing in their ears they played their hearts put and had Danesfort on the back foot for the third quarter. Danesfort then regained their footing and added a few scores. Our lads tired did their best and kept at it till the final whistle but Danesfort went on tho win the game by just one puck of the ball.
Hard luck lads and a great effort did credit to ye all.Final score: Tullogher Rosbercon  2-11 and 2-14 to Danesfort
Duggan Steel Under 14 Hurling Championship. Roinn C Final
Our Under 14 hurlers were finanists against the combined Graignamanagh and Skeough outfit, St Fiacres in Thomastown before the Minor game. They played well in the first half against a very strong Fiacra's team. In the second half St Fiacra's older and stronger lads gained the upper hand and gradually imposed their will on the game. Our lads faught on till the final whistle but in the end the stronger team won the day. Hard luck lads and well done for going so far in the championship. Final score:Tullogher Rosbercon  0-14 to Danesfort's  4-17.
Schools Football – Roinn A
